ABC Learn’s YouthBuild Program works with young people 16-24 to provide vocational training along with college prep courses. In addition the charter school enables the students to obtain a diploma from a WASC approved school. English as a Second Language courses for adults has been a part of their programs, and ABC Learn was one of the first state approved provider of No Child Left Behind tutoring services for qualifying students.

“Our organization was founded by a parent who noticed a propensity for students who were struggling academically to turn to crime and violence. This caring woman decided to make a difference in these youthful lives by coordinating tutoring programs to help keep these kids in school,” Kelley Chatman, Mentoring Coordinator of ABC Learn. “This early success developed into today’s multi-faceted programming that goes beyond basic education and tutoring to also focus on building self-esteem through increased academics and life skills. Thank you No More Poverty for helping us continue to nurture productive and contributing members of society.”
