Charitable Endowment Support announces that a December medical mission to the Philippines, led by Michael Omidi, M.D. and his family via their charity No More Poverty, was a tremendous success with the provision of many life-changing operations to help the country’s poor population. Medical staff and equipment/supplies are being sought for a return trip currently planned for June of this year.
Charitable Endowment Support (CES7) is pleased to report that the lives of many underprivileged Filipinos were vastly improved by the free medical surgeries and services provided during a December, 2012 Medical Mission to the city of Calumpit just north of Manila. The trip, co-sponsored by the local government of the Bulacan province, was made possible by the generous support of No More Poverty, its co-founders Julian Omidi and Michael Omidi, MD, and their mother Cindy Omidi.

We are grateful for Dr. Omidi’s leadership and the support of his whole family, without whom this important humanitarian endeavor, which restored the lives of many, would not have been possible,” according to Charles Santacrose, Founder and President of Charitable Endowment Support. “We look forward to a continuing partnership with the Omidis and a second trip in June to minister to even more deserving Philippine people.”
Dr. Michael Omidi led the compassionate team of two surgeons and five nurses/surgical technicians, who together were able to complete 36 major surgeries in just a few days. Procedures included the removal of large growths related to breast and thyroid cancer, hernia repairs, and several surgeries to fix debilitating face and neck deformities. Most of the 94 million people living in the Philippines have limited access to and can’t afford to pay for medical treatment. Tragically, many of those suffering with cancerous growths find themselves with no options and are relegated to suffer in silence as they wait to die.
“It was a privilege to have this opportunity to use my training to benefit such a beautiful group of people,” says Michael Omidi, MD co-founder of No More Poverty. “We were able to help many educated professionals and several destitute orphans, some were at death’s door and others ostracized from society because of their illness and related deformities. Their infinite gratefulness touched my heart and I look forward to returning again in June to help more of these warm and gracious people.”
