Girls on the Run of Los Angeles County expresses appreciation for the support of No More Poverty and co-founders Michael Omidi and Julian Omidi.

Girls on the Run of Los Angeles County appreciates the support of Michael Omidi and Julian Omidi, co-founders of No More Poverty. Girls on the Run/LA is a non-profit community organization that offers a transformational learning program for 8 to 13 year-old girls. They teach life skills through dynamic, conversation-based lessons and running games. Their motto is: Using the power of running to teach young women they can do anything.

“Our program unleashes confidence through accomplishment while establishing a lifetime appreciation of health and fitness, and we strongly believe that Girls on the Run/LA is for EVERY girl,” says Molly Snow, Council Director for Girls on the Run/LA. “Since we never turn a young girl away for an inability to pay, we are reliant on the generosity of donors. The support of No More Poverty and its co-founders Michael Omidi, MD and Julian Omidi will help us continue to inspire young women in this truly life-changing way.”

About Girls on the Run
Girls on the Run (gotrlosangeles.org) combines training for a non-competitive running event with lessons that help young women to recognize and honor their individual strengths and talents. Lessons inspire the girls to be healthy, honor their voices, recognize their gifts, and activate their power. With a detailed curriculum of games, activities, discussions, and running, girls experience the joy of simply being themselves. The 12-week program concludes with a celebration of the girls’ success with participation in a non-competitive 5k (3.1 mile) walk/run. The goal in the end is for every girl to know and activate her limitless potential and be free to boldly pursue her dreams.

Girls on the Run International is a 501c3 organization with more than 200 councils across North America, changing the lives of thousands of girls every year. Molly Barker, MSW, is four-time Hawaii Ironman triathlete who founded the organization in 1996.
