Operation HOPE expresses appreciation for the support of No More Poverty and co-founders Michael Omidi and Julian Omidi.

No More Poverty and its co-founders Michael Omidi and Julian Omidi support Operation HOPE, an organization focused on increasing the economic stability of people in under-resourced areas throughout the world. Its main programs are financial education for youth and adults and disaster relief, recovery, and preparedness. HOPE’s most recent disaster relief program addresses the current mortgage crisis and getting people back on their feet after losing their home and/or job.

“For more than 20 years, Operation HOPE has provided the training and tools necessary to make the free market system work for the poor and underserved and low income communities,” says Julian Omidi, co-founder of No More Poverty. “It’s much like the Chinese proverb that says, ‘…teach a man to fish, and feed him for life’. We applaud and support Operation HOPE’s efforts to attack the very roots of poverty by equipping those in need with the life skills necessary for success.”

“Operation HOPE was founded in Los Angeles immediately following the Rodney King Riots of 1992 and our global headquarters are located right here,” says Kedisa Johnson, Program Manager for Operation HOPE’s Los Angeles office. “The support of No More Poverty and it co-founders Michael Omidi, MD and Julian Omidi will empower us to make a true difference in the lives of people in the local community, throughout the nation, and around the world.”

About Operation HOPE A global nonprofit, dedicated to financial dignity, Operation HOPE (operationhope.org) promotes self-respect and self-sufficiency through financial literacy and education tools to underserved communities in more than 273 cities worldwide. Through its four core portfolios, the organization provides programs for youth and adult financial literacy, economic preparedness, digital empowerment, home ownership, and foreclosure prevention to more than 2 million individuals.

HOPE’s ultimate mission is to eradicate poverty by focusing on the 21st century’s next civil right, what the organization calls “silver rights.” The Silver Rights Movement recognizes Ambassador Andrew Young’s belief that “living in a capitalistic society with no access to capital is a sophisticated form of slavery.” The Silver Rights Movement works to give underserved and low-income Americans a chance to become active participants in our free-market economy.
