Mercy House and its programs are making a difference in the aid of homeless men, women and children in Orange County.

No More Poverty and its co-founders Michael Omidi, MD and Julian Omidi are pleased to support Orange County’s Mercy House, a haven for the homeless for nearly 25 years. Mercy House offers a continuum of care that provides homeless prevention, emergency services, transitional housing, and permanent housing with supportive services to homeless men, women and children. The organization’s philosophy is summed up with the phrase “We help people find their way back home.”

“Mercy House is unique in that it offers a multitude of programs to address the various needs of the homeless, meeting them wherever they are and with what is needed,” says Dr. Michael Omidi, co-founder of No More Poverty. “This approach is highly effective and helps thousands of men, women and children every year. No More Poverty wholeheartedly supports the the efforts of Mercy House to end homelessness.”

Mercy House (mercyhouse.net) is a non-profit organization founded in 1988 by Father Jerome T. Karcher. In the last 12 months, Mercy House has helped nearly 600 individuals remain in their homes, served nearly 2,000 people at access centers, aided more than 3,600 in emergency shelter programs, transitioned more than 190 people out of temporary shelters, and facilitated permanent housing for over 400. Breaking through the stereotype of the homeless person, Mercy House successfully sets a standard in its services to homeless men, women and children. It is the Mercy House mission to be a leader in ending homelessness for those who enter its system of care by providing a unique system of dignified housing alternatives, programs and supportive services.
