In support of improved literacy and health, No More Poverty provided children’s books of positive affirmations to inspire 3-5 year olds at Precious Lamb Preschool.

No More Poverty donated 50 children’s books to Precious Lamb Preschool in Long Beach, California. Entitled “I am Healthy! Affirmations for Health and Well-being,” the book is published by the I AM Foundation and gifted to people around the world.

The organization supports children, parents, and teachers to make healthy choices regarding food, exercise, and other daily activities. “I Am Healthy!” also includes a workbook section for children along with articles and teaching aids for parents and teachers. The vision of Precious Lamb Preschool is to “break the cycle of homelessness, one child at a time” by providing free, early education and care to children and families facing homelessness.

“Precious Lamb Preschool does tremendous work with children in the community and we believe the positive messaging in the I AM Healthy book will inspire their life choices and activities,” according toJulian Omidi, co-founder of No More Poverty. “My brother Michael Omidi and I are happy to share this resource. The life lessons taught in this book about health and improved self-esteem will undoubtedly make a positive difference for generations to come.”

Precious Lamb Preschool (http://www.preciouslamb.org) is a non-profit organization committed to providing children and families facing homelessness with free, Christ-centered education and care. The preschool serves families living in shelters or transitional programs who have experienced domestic violence, crisis pregnancy, substance abuse and homelessness. At no cost to the family, children ages three to five benefit from a full day, developmentally appropriate preschool program while parents participate in their rehabilitation, job training and educational programs. Precious Lamb maintains a unique 1:4 teacher/child ratio in order to give the children the consistency they need and opportunities for healing and growth. Hands-on learning activities help the children gain the knowledge and skills needed to feel confident and succeed, helping them grow emotionally, mentally, spiritually, physically and socially.
