Upward Bound House is gracious for the support of No More Poverty and co-founders Michael Omidi and Julian Omidi as sponsors of its Annual Welcome Home Celebration.

Upward Bound Houseis pleased to add No More Poverty and co-founders Michael Omidi, MD and Julian Omidi as sponsors of their annual gala. The Welcome Home Celebration took place on October 9, 2012 and was held at the Sony Studios in Culver City. This popular fund-raising event, included live entertainment, a silent auction, “tastes” of popular dishes from dozens of Los Angeles’ top restaurants, and a specially prepared dinner by Wolfgang Puck. The evening’s agenda also included a charity update from the President of Upward Bound House’s and special recognition of its top supporters for the year. Upward Bound House’s mission is the elimination of homelessness among families with children in the greater Los Angeles area.

“Upward Bound House has been doing this important work for more than 20 years and the annual celebration is a very important fundraising event we all look forward to,” says Jaclyn Lantz, Director of Advancement at Upward Bound House. “Unfortunately the job doesn’t get any easier and this past year was especially tough due to the continuing recession. Thank you No More Poverty for helping us to continue our mission of eliminating homelessness.”

Upward Bound House (upwardboundhouse.org) provides community-based housing placement and support services to families and low-income seniors. Founded in 1991, the non-profit agency offers an array of services that give families the tools needed to achieve self-sufficiency, including parenting classes and financial training combined with intensive case management.
