Omidi brothers, Julian and Michael Omidi, M.D., support Simone’s Kids for making a difference in the education of Ugandan children.

Simone’s KidsBrothers Julian and Michael Omidi, through their non-profit organization NO MORE POVERTY, INC. (nmp.org), are pleased donate funds to the charity Simone’s Kids (simoneskids.com). Simone Plimpton, a 22 year old recent graduate of Lee University, was motivated to start her own charity following a 2007 visit to Uganda while she was still in high school. She founded Simone’s Kids three years later with a mission of ensuring proper nutrition, housing, and education for Ugandan children.

“Simone’s Kids is a novel and impactful charity, founded by a tremendous young woman, and doing great work on behalf of the children of Uganda,” says Julian Omidi, NO MORE POVERTY’S co-founder. “I am very impressed with Ms. Plimpton, her compassion, and her dedication to providing these disadvantaged children with hope and opportunity.”

Simone’s Kids operates a school in the Ugandan town of Nakaske and is now raising funds to build an orphanage and private school. Future plans include the construction of family homes, the establishment of a medical clinic, and development of children’s sports programs. According to Plimpton, “we are opening the minds of children that have been handed nothing in life.”

Uganda is one of the poorest countries in Africa and the humanitarian needs are great — more than 35% of the population is living below the poverty line, the infant mortality rate is very high at 62.47 deaths per 1,000 live births, and there are more than 1.2 million Ugandans living with HIV/AIDS.

NO MORE POVERTY (nmp.org) is a not-for-profit charity organization founded by brothers Michael Omidi, M.D. and Julian Omidi and has applied for charitable organization 501(c)(3) status. The organization seeks to provide novel solutions to increase the standard of living and quality of life for those suffering from poverty. NMP’s focus is increasing long-term sustainability through grants and business development that will create jobs and commerce in disenfranchised areas. NMP encourages the public to donate directly to the featured charities. You are invited to join the fight for NO MORE POVERTY! For additional information, please visit Facebook® or nmp.org.
