NO MORE POVERTY is pleased to announce a donation of funds to the Mariners Church Haiti Outreach to support the continued construction of an orphanage and school in Haiti. The country is still recovering from a devastating 2009 earthquake that destroyed the homes of more than 1.6 million Haitians.
Mariners Church holds a Vacation Bible School program every summer which hosts roughly 2,000 kids from kindergarten through 5th grade. The school program has a unique theme every year and is always packed with fun and important learning experiences. This year, the children of VBS at Mariners Church, along with NO MORE POVERTY, are focusing on raising money to rebuild Haiti in a fun and exciting way.
“We are excited to partner with this Haiti Outreach Mission,” said NO MORE POVERTY co-founder Julian Omidi. “Children in Haiti are suffering and this will give them one more place they can go to feel safe and comfortable. It critical that we do what we can to help the Haitian people and children in particular during this dire time of need.”
Last year Mariners Church rose over $25,000 to build an orphanage in Haiti. “The vision to build an orphanage has been expanded and plans now include a new school, ministry housing, and other elements that will add to the long term sustainability of the orphanage,” Ali Morris, with Mariners Church said. “With that in mind, we have decided to raise additional support this year for Haiti in order to help that vision progress. We couldn’t be happier that No More Poverty has chosen to support us in this effort.” For more information on Mariner’s Church or to donate to them, please visit marinerschurch.org or call 949.769.8100.
