Omidi Brothers offer support to Dandelion Wishes, a non-profit that offers
therapeutic art programs to those in need of healing and hope.
No More Poverty and its co-founders Dr. Michael Omidi and Julian Omidi support the creativity of Dandelion Wishes and its director Lesley Glenn. The charity Dandelion Wishesuses therapeutic art to help the victims of violent crime and trauma to express themselves, develop self-worth, and transform their lives for the better. The organization’s current outreach efforts are focused on the San Bernardino Juvenile Detention Center and a sober-living home in Riverside County.
“The devastation inflicted on the lives of the poor and victimized is profound, and often mysteriously hidden. Helping Dandelion Wishes to bring understanding and healing to afflicted women and children, in our local community and internationally, is one of the missions of No More Poverty,” says Dr. Omidi, charity co-founder.
Dandelion Wishes evolved from a personal story of redemption, where founder and director, Lesley Glenn discovered healing from her pain and a new passion for life through painting and self-expression. And now, that is exactly what she offers and teaches others – how to access the healing and transformative aspects of art and creativity. With a heart for social justice at all levels, Glenn uses art because it transcends all languages, cultures and economic conditions. She has taken Dandelion Wishes to impoverished children and women in Nicaragua and provides healing arts workshops in prisons, juvenile detention centers, women’s shelters, and rehabilitation centers.
No More Poverty (nmp.org) is a not-for-profit charity organization with a pending 501(c)3 application founded by brothers Michael Omidi, M.D. and Julian Omidi. The organization seeks to end poverty at home and abroad by supporting the efforts of like-minded charities and agencies. Current efforts are focused on increasing awareness of and donations to charities already doing great work to address poverty and its staggering effects throughout the world. The plan is to expand our activities to include fostering business development and job creation in disenfranchised areas.
