The new program is an outcome of two successful, recent medical missions, cosponsored by Charitable Endowment Support (CES7), which provided life-saving medical care to nearly 80 people in the province of Bulacan, Philippines.

The new program is an outcome of two successful, recent medical missions, cosponsored by Charitable Endowment Support (CES7), which provided life-saving medical care to nearly 80 people in the province of Bulacan, Philippines.
Moved by the heartbreaking needs of disadvantaged people in underserved areas around the globe, No More Poverty formed a new charitable program called Operations for Hope, which will organize and fund medical missions in countries throughout the world. In the last year, the charity has already cosponsored two missions to provide free medical and surgical treatment in Bulacan, Philippines.
“Following the first two medical missions and witnessing the healing and joy of the patients we treated in the Philippines, I am extremely excited to expand our outreach globally with Operations for Hope,” says Dr. Michael Omidi, cofounder of No More Poverty. “This new humanitarian endeavor will reinforce our work with CES7 while increasing our global impact by formulating and sending more medical teams to help communities around the world.”
A third Operations for Hope trip to the Philippines is planned for December 2013. The organization is also planning missions to Latin America and impoverished areas of the U.S. in 2014. Product and cash donations for future Operations for Hope medical missions are greatly appreciated and can be submitted on the CES7 website at ces7.org.
During the mission trips to the Philippines, the medical team provided lifesaving surgical care to patients suffering from breast and thyroid cancers, hernias, and reconstructive surgery for congenital facial deformities. The group was led by Lee K. Au, MD a board certified general surgeon and Michael Omidi, MD a double board certified plastic and general surgeon. An anesthesia provider, a surgical assistant along with a several registered nurses, technicians and other technical support staff joined the group.
