No More Poverty, its co-founders Julian Omidi and Dr. Michael Omidi and their charity partner CES7 are grateful for the support of Deekee Gaerlan who hosted a Zumba charity event on June 8 in Glendale to help sponsor a life-saving mission to provide free medical care to the Filipino people.

No More Poverty and CES7 appreciate the support and sponsorship of Deekee Gaerlan, a Zumba fitness instructor with a huge heart that is not only healthy and strong, but also compassionate and caring. DeeKee hosted a June 8 Zumba charity dance-party to help fund a medical mission, co-sponsored by CES7 and No More Poverty, which will provide much needed medical services to many poor Filipino people suffering with disease and deformity.

“CES7 and No More Poverty sent a medical team to Calumpit, Philippines last year and were able to provide surgical care to many impoverished citizens suffering from large cancerous growths, hernias, and debilitating face and neck deformities. We knew right away that we needed to return again to help even more of these brave, deserving people,” says Yolanda Abaca of the charity CES7. “Thanks to people like DeeKee and our partners, the Omidi brothers of No More Poverty, we will return and continue to provide free, life-changing medical care for those in pain.”

Most of the 94 million people living in the Philippines have limited access to and cannot afford to pay for medical treatment. This Youtube video link provides a summary of last year’s medical mission and will help viewers to better understand the urgent medical needs of the Filipino people.

Deekee Gaerlan led the Zumba charity event along with a variety of special guest instructors who danced to the beats laid down by DJ Joopz. The event was held June 8, 2013, at the Pacific Community Center in Glendale, CA. Participant donations will help to fund a July medical mission to the Philippines lead by Dr. Michael Omidi and co-sponsored by CES7 and No More Poverty.
