Mercy HouseMercy House is a non-profit organization founded in 1988 by Father Jerome T. Karcher. In the last 12 months, Mercy House has helped nearly 600 individuals remain in their homes, served nearly 2,000 people at access centers, aided more than 3,600 in emergency shelter programs, transitioned more than 190 people out of temporary shelters, and facilitated permanent housing for over 400. The Playing for Change Foundation is a multimedia movement created to inspire, connect, and bring peace to the world through music. Established in 2007, the nonprofit’s mission is to create positive change through music and arts education. It supports music schools and programs that are created and operated by local communities and then purposefully connects those communities around the world. To date, Playing For Change Foundation has approximately 600 children participating in regular music instruction within eight music schools in South Africa, Ghana, Mali, Rwanda, and Nepal. The organization is expanding worldwide with plans for new programs in America and Thailand.
